“No one can serve two masters. For you will hate one and love the other; you will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.
“That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life—whether you have enough food and drink, or enough clothes to wear. Isn’t life more than food, and your body more than clothing? Matthew 6:24-25NLT
Whatever a man is doing in this kingdom and the primary motive is not either to bring in souls or establish the souls in the Kingdom, it is a waste.
Many laudable programmes, projects and activities may be put in place but when the motive is selfish, even when it seem to have a touch of godliness by inference, it is still wrong and will surely lack good reward before the Lord as established in the scriptures.
O comrade, that programme you organized, that message you are preaching, that visitation you go for, that giving you practice, and so on, who is behind them? God or mammon?
Don't let your focus be shifted from genuine kingdom service to pursuit after money, your stand for the kingdom may brew persecution/ostracism for you but in due time, all these things that gentiles seek after will automatically follow you and those who persecute you will learn godliness by your testimony.
May we not be found to have laboured wrongly on the day of reckoning in Jesus' name.
Shalom.
