"And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the LORD his God". 1 Samuel 30:6
In 1Samuel 30, we read of how David and the men he made were distressed for loss of all they had.
Note that David himself also suffered loss like every other person but his people over whom he had laboured thought of harming him in fact, killing him for their losses even while he mourn his losses too.
But David, rather than upbraiding these "nobodies" that have become "somebodies" under his tutelage, he went to God for solution to their general problem. What a heart?
O comrade, are you passing through a severe situation and the people you have once helped out of their predicament are the very ones castigating, criticizing, or condemning you? Are you offended at the people you thought should be a source of encouragement to you but rather are the ones adding salt to your injury?
It's time to look away from men to God, offense will rather harm you than do you any good. Encourage yourself in the LORD and follow His instructions, everything will eventually take shape.
May we not suffer loss and may we recover all we have lost in time past. Amen.
Shalom.
