"For I the LORD thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee." Isaiah 41:13
Even though the expression "For I the LORD thy God will hold thy right hand" contextually mean "I will strengthen you", we will use it to mean "I will lead you".
Recently, I went to pick my daughter in school and as we walk home she refused that I hold her hand. Rather, she prefer to hold my hand. As she held my hand excitedly I remember saying "If you hold my hand, you may fall. Let me hold you so you won't fall". That was a statement that provoked some thoughts in my heart.
Many want to hold God's hands, desiring that He follows them in pursuit of their selfish interests; wanting Him to approve all they want to do thereby making Him a rubber stamp God. That way of life or attitude has cost many their footing in the faith.
God is our Father, He knows every details about the path of life wherein we thread now, let us put our hands into His hands so He can lead us as the good shepherd and we shall be safe all through the journey of life.
May we not lose our footing in the faith in Jesus' name.
Shalom.
