By the scriptures we know there were forty generations between Jacob and Jesus which means thousands of years. But how come Jacob's well was still serving men till Jesus' time and beyond? John 4:11 confirm that the well was deep.
As a seller of Christian articles, I have sold many books which were written by men who departed from this world for over 100, 200 years; yet what they wrote is still very relevant, blessing lives. Yet, I have also seen books written by some very recently and they're phased out already. I sell some songs that had been sung before some of us were born, when playing out from my shop, you can almost touch the life behind the songs even though they're not as melodious instrumentally as we have today and at the same time, we know some minstrels who reigned and in less than twenty years though still alive, yet they have gone into obscurity. What could be responsible?
Men of old I can see wrote and sang from inspirations gotten out of a deep devotion to God; they were deeply rooted in God that what they wrote was not from academic prowess nor did they sing because they're merely gifted. All were tapped from the inspiration they had from their deeper adventure into the life of God.
O comrade, how deep are you and how deep do you strive under grace to go? The deeper you go in God, the more the impact you will surely make, not only on your generation but on generations after you.
Prayer: Lord, help me to tarry with you until I am deeply rooted in you that I might be an instrument in your hands with which you may reach my generation and generations beyond.
May heaven grant this our heart desire.
