"Because of the miraculous signs Jesus did in Jerusalem at the Passover celebration, many began to trust in him.
But Jesus didn’t trust them, because he knew all about people.
No one needed to tell him about human nature, for he knew what was in each person’s heart."
John 2:23-25 NLT.
One thing that baffled me in the first two verses above is that the Bible says the people in question were also believers because they did believe in Him; they have come to trust in Him but He trust them; He didn't commit Himself to them as KJV puts it.
If the Bible says "Whoever believes in Him shall be saved", why will God deny saved souls of heavenly commitment? Alas! The last verse revealed why, it was because He could discern what was in them. They were believers but not trustworthy due to the condition of their hearts.
O comrade, examine yourself as the Bible adminishes, what's the condition of your heart? Can heaven trust you with power, anointing, special gifts, position, or the hidden treasures of the world and will not lose you to prodigality?
Search your heart and pray earnestly that the grace of God may work out trustworthiness in you.
May we be found trustworthy of outpouring when the heavens open.
