The world is systematically designed to set men into a frantic race pursuing vanity. Legitimate things are set to over occupy man's heart to the extent that if care is not taken, man will have reasonable excuses not to seek God.
But in the midst of all these, despite that anxiety eats up men on daily basis, Jesus asked who among you can a cubit to his stature through anxiety?(Matt.6:27paraphrase) while admonishing us as disciples to trust God as a Father who cares most about us.
In this world, there is no rest. Rest is found only in Christ who said "come unto me all you who labour and are heavy laden, and I WILL GIVE YOU REST. Matt. 11:28.
O Comrade, where is your heart? What do you treasure most? Whatever you treasure most tells where your heart is.
How then can you know what you treasure most? Whatever occupies your heart most is what you treasure most.
Some could have their hearts on their properties, on achievements, on earthly pleasure, on making money, on academic pursuits, etc. And some, though few (according to the scriptures) have their hearts on seeking to know God more deeply and pursuing His agenda on earth everyday. To the former, this world is their treasure and to the later, God is their treasure. Where exactly is your heart O Comrade?
For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also" Matt.6:21.
May we all whose hearts are distracted be refocused so that we may enjoy the rest God has given us in Christ and be found worthy at Christ's return in Jesus' name.
