"Imitate God, therefore, in everything you do, because you are his dear children." Ephesians 5:1
To imitate means to do as someone does, following them as a role model; copying the person in life and actions.
I have come to discover that being a bastard is not in illegitimacy, it's in behaviour.
As God's dear children, we are expected to take after our Father. That is the way the world can know Him through us since they can't see Him.
How then can we imitate God if we're not staying with His word that reveals Him to us? We must stay with the word "So all of us who have had that veil removed can see and reflect the glory of the Lord. And the Lord—who is the Spirit—makes us more and more like him as we are changed into his glorious image." 2Cor.3:18 NLT.
Semblance goes beyond looking (physically) like someone, it's also in reasoning like, acting like and responding like a person.
Do you truly want to be like our Father in heaven o comrade? Every growing child resembles those with whom they stay, when you stay more with God through His word, you will surely take His semblance.
May we not disappoint the expectations of heaven over our lives in Jesus' name.
