"Since you have heard about Jesus and have learned the truth that comes from him, throw off your old sinful nature and your former way of life, which is corrupted by lust and deception. Instead, let the Spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes. Put on your new nature, created to be like God—truly righteous and holy." Ephesians 4:21-24 NLT
All we need to live godly lives as saints has been given to us by His divine power (which is grace; the divine enablement that is put in us by God). Peter 1:3.
As God's children and as saints of God, we are responsible to utilise or make use of this treasure of divine power that is given to us in truly becoming what God has predestined us to be and has called us.
God can surely do all things but will surely not do what He has graced us to do for us.
To act saintly is to choose on daily basis to live godly by this power of grace given to us. We, (not God) must throw off our old sinful nature and our former ways of life, permit the Holy Spirit to renew our thoughts and attitudes and also put on our new nature which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.
These are our responsibilities as saints of God and not God's.
O Comrade, as good as positive confessions are, mere confession, saying "I am a saint, saved by grace, heir of God, I have got eternal life in me etc" without consciously working out your salvation with fear and trembling on daily basis is a useless adventure.
Arise O Comrade and act saintly. Don't be or stop being a waster, abuser or underutilizer of this power of grace given to you and you shall find rest for your soul.
May we keep receiving grace for grace in Jesus' name.
