In Colossians 3:23 we as believers are admonished "And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men".
The scripture didn't say "whatsoever you do in church", "whatsoever you do to Christian brethren", or "whatsoever you do to your pastor" but "whatsoever you do" irrespective of where you do it and to/with who.
When you sell goods, sell as unto the Lord; remembering that when you cheat on that customer, you're actually cheating on the Lord, when you receive contract, do it as unto the Lord; knowing when you collect money for original material and buy substandard, you're cheating the Lord, when you get a job, do it as unto the Lord; knowing when you do it lazily or steal from the office for personal use and yet collect your salary in full, the Lord will be your rewarder, when you give, give as unto the Lord; knowing it is the Lord you're giving etc.
If we have put in our minds the reality that whatever we do to fellow human especially believers is done directly to the Lord maybe we will learn to do well.
I pray this day that the Lord will help us to begin to live with the consciousness that all we do is unto the Lord. Amen.
Shalom
