Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf." 1Pet.4:15,16
We have spoken about the persecution of the believers and encouraged anyone who is undergoing any form of persecution for Christ's sake but be sure that it will be self deception if you claim persecution if denied promotion at work due to unfaithfulness or if you're being relieved of duty due to lack of competence.
If your dressing irritates unbelievers in your neighborhood and they decide to dissociate themselves from you and prevent their children from relating freely with you, do you say you are being ostracized for Christ's sake?
If you're avoided for your superiority complex, pride and lack of manners, do you also call that persecution?
If you're beaten up for being a gossip or backbiter, do you claim persecution?
O comrade, you are only persecuted if why you're going through what you are going through is strictly because you have chosen to live as light in this world of darkness and not because of your misdeeds.
If you are suffering for your misdeeds please repent and let your life bear the fruit of genuine repentance and the Lord will bless you.
