Trusting in the Lord does not stop proper planning, a man of faith is only expected to plan within the confines of God's will and not necessarily within the current available resources.
When a believer is asked "what are your plans, what do you intend achieving this year?" and you receive response like "well, whatever God has for me will surely come to pass". Such a believer is not likely to move an inch forward in the year.
While I am not disputing that God has plans for His children, He didn't make His children robbots either. Planning serves as the driving force behind achievements; it will even drive a believer to his/her closet.
O comrade, what are your plans? How do you intend achieving them? What are you doing currently towards achieving those plans. Don't forget without planning, nothing drives you even into your closet.
Arise and be responsible; rest on the arm of grace and you will be ab achiever.
As you sit to plan under God, may He by His Spirit guide you and give you the strength for achievement.
