When Jesus promised eternal life and other blessings from God in folds to all who leave all to follow Him in Mark 10:28-30, He did not forget to frankly make it clear that persecution is part of the package.
How can a generation that can't afford any inconveniences for the gospel's sake talk less of persecution claim eternal life?
In Mark 8:35 Jesus said "For whosoever will save his life will lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel's, the same shall save it"
No wonder the first generation of believers were not embittered when persecuted rather, they rejoiced. Acts 5:33-41.
O comrade, check the package of salvation you're carrying; do you join them in unrighteousness for fear of persecution? Do you find yourself bending rules in order to avoid suffering for righteousness' sake? Man of God, have you stopped preaching on holiness, consecration, righteous living for fear of being persecuted?
Arise and stand for righteousness, prepare your heart for the worst as you carry out the assignment of spreading the good news of salvation through Christ and you shall both save yourself and those who hear you.
May His grace be multiplied unto us in this last hours of the last days.
