The major difference between a Child of God and other men outside God's kingdom (that is, unbelievers) is the presence of the indwelling Holy Spirit of Jehovah God and yielding to His leadership. For it is those who are controlled by the Spirit of God that are God's children (Rom.8:14)
Even though we have the nature of God that gives us the capacity to do whatever God has capacity to do yet, all we do is based on our choices on daily basis; unbelievers are sinners by nature and commit sin by force but a believer can commit sin if he so chooses.
A believer that wants to be exactly like Jesus MUST choose to obey the leadings of thSpirit every moment, everyday.
Now, because believers are not angels but still humans, there are forces within this body of death that we carry that we must contend with daily, subduing it if we will truly do the will of the Lord as Jesus Himself did while physically present here on earth. (1Cor.9:27).
Strive O comrade to appropriate the victory of the cross daily, submit to the leadings of the Holy Spirit and you shall indeed be like Jesus; the express representation of God on earth.
May we receive grace daily to utilize grace to become like Jesus in obedience and doing Jehovah's will. Amen.
