Shining the light means living out the life of Christ that is given to us. It means permitting the life of Christ which is inside of us to find expression.
When the life of Christ finds expression through us, we live by the kingdom standards and among men, we express some characters that the world finds difficult to understand because it goes beyond merely being morally upright.
This expression is not learnt from external influences but internal, it is not expressed in obedience to any earthly culture but in obedience to the promptings of the indwelling Spirit of the living God.
Shining out this life is not automatic, the carrier of the life; the believer must make up his mind to permit the life to find expression. This is one major way of bringing glory to God and our father.
O comrade, do you shine out this life? Can men touch Jesus in you? Can they see Jesus when they come closer to you? Does your character, comportment, attitude, outlook, actions and reactions bring glory to the Father?
We shall not be unprofitable servants in Jesus' name.
