KINGLY COMPORTMENT

"The words of king Lemuel, the prophecy that his mother taught him. What, my son? and what, the son of my womb? and what, the son of my vows? Give not thy strength unto women, nor thy ways to that which destroyeth kings" Proverbs 31:1-3 KJV

Kings are rulers vested with much authority over the people, their reign could cause heaven to either open or close over the land showing how God of heaven honours a king's throne.

Yet, despite the aura of glory and honour that follow kings wherever they go in the land, a certain thing exist that has the capacity to destroy kings apart from war. It is innate and not external.

Indulgence it is.

Any believer-king who lacks self control is never likely to make it.

Solomon, the wisest king that ever lived among men ended up so foolish and lost God's respect due to the indulgent life which he lived.

Joseph fulfilled purpose because he chose to live a self controlled disciplined life of abstinence.

Judas Ischariot lost his place among the twelve and in eternity due to lack of self control; he couldn't control his appetite for money.

O comrade, it's not enough to know you're a king and that you have power and authority in Christ to do great things upon the earth. It is also wise to acknowledge there are things that the enemy of your soul could use against you (if detected in your life) to reduce you to mere shadow of what you are supposed to be and eventually lose eternity with God if not careful.

Search dear, stop calling those things suiting names, identify those things contending against your abiding in Christ; indulge no more in the works of the flesh, cry to God for overcoming grace and you will be victorious both in this life and that which is to come.

Shalom.
