Believers in whom this symptom is found expressing itself do not always see reasons to thank God for anything because they believe God does not have a choice than to do whatever He has done for them because they also have done something for God. They owe whatever God has done for them to their good works.
A man once asked what has God ever done for him. He said "I worked for 30 days and was paid my wages, I boarded a vehicle to the market and paid the driver, bought what I needed and paid for them, paid another driver to bring me home, so what exactly is the input of God in all these? That's the virus.
A young footballer was also told sometimes ago "God really helped you, if you had fallen down the other time on the field, you would have sustained serious injury" and he said "was that God or stamina?" That's the virus.
You may never have opened your mouth to say things like these because you are religious but your attitude shows you really don't see reasons appreciating God for blessing you because you feel after all, you pay your tithe and give alms.
Are you beginning to see this symptom in yourself even towards fellow humans? Your case is not hopeless. The Lord can help you with a right heart of gratitude, if only you can aknowledge you need healing in the heart.
It is well with you.
Shalom.
