And Naboth said to Ahab, The LORD forbid it me, that I should give the inheritance of my fathers unto thee." 1Kings 21:2,3.
Naboth's ancestral vineyard may not be beautiful or fascinating but he valued it above his life here on earth. Even though he eventually died for the sake of his inheritance, his death was heroic. He was strong enough to deny the king of this world toying with his inheritance.
How do you see that O comrade?
This "vineyard" of holy living, righteous living, consecration, honesty, integrity, love, etc handed over to us by our fathers may not be a "tush" vineyard in this present world and the "kings" of this world might have been wanting to exchange it for us with better reward as we interract with them in the business world, in our work place, in politics etc.
Will you stand or compromise?
May heaven find us heroes of this faith rather than compromisers for vanity.
WHATEVER YOU CAN'T DIE FOR DOES NOT WORTH LIVING FOR.
Shalom
