"Brothers and sisters, we urge you to WARN those who are lazy. ENCOURAGE those who are timid. TAKE TENDER CARE of those who are weak. . BE PATIENT with everyone" 1Thess.5:14 NLT
The first of our responsibilities towards each other as believers is to discourage laziness and warn against idleness.
Many hide under religion to live lazy lives in this generation (with the exception of those with divine instruction not to take up secular jobs); but we are not to look away as if it's not our business because the Bible says:
"Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin." James 4:17
Let us arise and teach each other how to get involved in profitable ventures. If they are schooling, get them studying to know it rather than just reading to pass exams; if they are not schooling, let them learn a trade or handwork; if they have graduated, instead of wasting away, let them get enterpreneural; if they are called to ministry, we sure know ministry is not for lazy people, if they are civil servants, let them work with godly fear etc.
Men of God, let us stop praying for financial prosperity for jobless lazy folks instead, let us pray for and teach them what will give them sustainable financial prosperity. Eph.4:28.
This may be heard to do, but it is our responsibility.
Arise and act.
Shalom
