Reuben was a heir, qualified by birth to be the heir of everything Israel had but on that fateful day, just one secret sin got him disqualified. He lost everything.
Many Christians like Reuben have been deluded into believing once a man is born again, he can NEVER be cast away anymore no matter what he does. They console themselves with all sorts of positive confessions when they indulge in sin instead of going to God in true repentance for forgiveness. They permit their sins to follow behind them into judgement. They shall be shocked when they hear the judgement.
O Comrade, have you also been deceived that a person can do whatever and can never be condemned as long as he claims to be a Christian? Forget not Reuben's case. You can avoid the repeat of that in your life.
